Marcus Lehto, co-creator of Halo and former developer of Battlefield, appears to harbor resentment towards Electronic Arts, the publisher that holds the publishing rights to the shooter.

After leaving Ridgeline Games, the EA division that handled the Battlefield campaign, Lehto said little about this unexpected transition. However, he spoke out after the studio closed and threw barbs at the publisher.

I haven't said much here as I don't have anything positive to say about EA, my recent departure and how so many, including my team, are suffering due to industry layoffs.

What will happen to the future of Battlefield?

It was not only Lehto who left production of the new Battlefield, but veteran creative director Craig Morrison took on the same role at another studio, Blue Scarab Entertainment, a newly founded company.

According to a report from Insider Gaming, the next Battlefield will have a free battle royale mode, just like the Call of Duty franchise. Furthermore, the game will feature a proposal to return to the roots of the series. Click here to learn more.
