Overwatch 2 heroes will be free from April

Blizzard plans big changes for Season 10 of Overwatch 2, which starts on April 16th. As of the update, new heroes can be acquired free of charge via the Premium Battle Pass and without the need for grind for hours and hours in the game.

In a statement, the publisher also confirmed that the old characters will be offered for free. However, new players need to complete the initial user experience before accessing both new champions and those from previous cycles.

Another new feature that will be available in Overwatch 2 from April is a set of Mythical skins previously released in battle passes or via direct purchases in the in-game store. Price details and the debut date of these cosmetics have not yet been released.

The Mythic Shop will allow you to work on past and current seasonal Mythic hero skins as you progress through the Premium Battle Pass. You decide how high each mythical skin you want to build up to.

So, for example, if you don't want to fully unlock every color or model variation of a skin, you can spread your progression to other mythical hero skins.

More changes for Overwatch 2 Season 10

Overwatch 2's next major update will include earning in-game currency through free and premium Battle Pass tiers. This offer is limited to a total of 600 coins per season — 60 more than in previous cycles.

Finally, a new game mode (Clash), the additional Hanaoka map and a limited-time event will be introduced. More details will be released in the coming weeks.

Overwatch 2 is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch and PC.
