Square Enix must diversify its games: “take on new challenges”

The president of Square Enix also outlines plans to renew his company's franchise portfolio. To further diversify games and depend less on already consolidated properties, the executive wants to “take on new challenges” and offer projects of “diverse genres” to the public.

During a question and answer session, Kiryu shared a series of reflections on the current state of his company. According to him, the portfolio guarantees “limited diversity” and would only “excessively” serve “certain styles or genres of games”.
