Ranked mode is a major attraction for all FPS games and with XDefiant, Ubisoft is looking to capture the attention of competitive gamers. Here is everything you need to know about this mode.

XDefiant is Ubisoft’s new FPS, aiming to be a shooter closer to Call of Duty compared to the more tactical Rainbow Six Siege.

Like other FPS games, XDefiant will offer various game modes to test your skill. One of these modes is Ranked, a competitive mode that allows you to measure your skills against the best of the best.

Does Ranked mode have a launch date in XDefiant?

XDefiant Ranked mode is not available at launch, however, a trial version replaces it. This gives fans a glimpse of what they can expect when the full experience will arrive in Season 1, July 2.

XDefiant Ranked Mode Matchmaking System: SBMM Explained

The development team has confirmed that XDefiant’s Ranked mode will feature skill-based matchmaking (SBMM) to create competitive lobbies by “prioritizing quality parties.”

To achieve this, they confirmed that the mode’s matchmaking system, SBMM, will prioritize match points. rank of players (SR), but will also take into account the following factors: group size, region, entry device and platform.

XDefiant’s Ranked mode progression system will introduce different levels that players can climb.

The XDefiant Season 1 trailer gave a glimpse of Ranked mode’s progression system. It looks like players can advance through levels and earn badges, with each level offering different rewards.

From the badge designs, it appears that the tiers are divided into Bronze, Silver, Gold, Ruby, Emerald, Diamond, and Amethyst. However, this remains unconfirmed. What we know from the trailer is that there is a special badge reserved for the top 500 players.

XDefiant Ranked Maps and Modes

Since Ranked mode isn’t available yet, we don’t have all the details on what to expect in terms of maps and modes. However, the trial version of this mode gives fans a taste of what they can expect.

Expect the final version of Ranked mode to mirror the trial version, although the selection of maps and modes is still unknown. Here are the maps and modes currently available in the game:

  • XDefiant Cards : Arena, Attica Heights, Dumbo, Echelon HQ, Emporium, Liberty, Mayday, Meltdown, Midway, Nudleplex, Pueblito, Showtime, Times Square
  • XDefiant Modes : Occupation, Domination, Escote, Area control
