Season 9 of Overwatch 2 will have a crossover with Cowboy Bebop

This week, Blizzard released the first details of Season nine of Overwatch 2. Titled Champions, the cycle begins on February 13 and includes collaborative content with the anime Cowboy Bebop and the board game Eldritch Horror.

The trailer shared by the developers confirms that Champions will introduce a competitive mode reworked from the ground up. There will be a reset of the leaderboard, tracking of progression in challenges in each match, new jade weapons and a Champion level of ranking.

Overwatch 2 season nine will feature a cosmic horror-themed narrative. Inspired by HPLovecraft stories, the Cthulhu mythos and the Eldritch Horror board game, the cycle will offer an exclusive skin for Moira, as well as several items in a themed Battle Pass.

Finally, a collaboration with Cowboy Bebop will carry elements from the anime straight into the shooter. However, so far, it has not yet been confirmed which content will be included in the update. Watch the trailer below:

Overwatch 2 is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch and PC.
