Eric Barone, creator of Stardew Valley, brought more news about his beloved game on social media. According to him, the number of sales has already exceeded 30 million.

In addition to sharing an update on sales, Barone also commented on the arrival of the long-awaited update 1.6. While the file will be available in advance for PC players on March 19, those who enjoy it on consoles will receive the news “as soon as possible”. Check out:

It's Stardew Valley's 8th anniversary. Thank you for all the support over the years! Today I'm announcing the PC update 1.6 release date: March 19th. Consoles and mobile will come as soon as possible.

As explained by Barone himself, the scope of patch 1.6 was larger than expected, so he has dedicated a lot of his time to preparing it. As the dev is the only person working on the game, he obviously had to stop production on Haunted Chocolatier to focus on the update.

Stardew Valley may have a New Year's event in the future

Another new feature coming to Stardew Valley will apparently be the addition of a New Year's event with fireworks and other festivities. In a social media post, Barone showed villagers gathering to enjoy a fireworks display. Check it out here!
