After several reports of cheating in Tekken 8 in recent weeks, the game's director, Katsuhiro Harada, announced severe punishments. Starting this week, Bandai Namco will be going to great lengths to ensure a fairer environment for legitimate players.

In a post on X, Harada revealed that his teams have already taken action to suspend hacker accounts. According to him, two types of measures were determined: permanent ban and ban for a limited time.

These actions were taken shortly after community reports involving illegal or recurring practices in Tekken 8. They include “intentional disconnection, cheating, cracking or use of inappropriate mods, and inappropriate customization or player name”.

Bandai Namco's vigilance will not stop there. Later this month, the devs intend to “expand the scope of coverage” to identify cheaters. The strategy aims to monitor non-compliance with rules set out in the End User License Agreement (EULA).
