During a conversation published by the Square Enix Music channel on YouTube, creative director Tetsuya Nomura, screenwriter Kazushige Nojima and composer Nobuo Uematsu commented on some stages of the project's development.

According to them, there was always awareness that the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy would require a certain level of “commitment”. Nomura even suggested that he “didn’t want” to work on the remakes and only thinks about finishing everything, despite having already passed the “intermediate point”.

Relieved to know that he will work with the same creative team from both games, the director also confirmed that he is “working hard” on the closure. The third part would be “ready for acceleration”, but does not yet have a clear release expectation.
