Matthew Wood, the project's animation director, takes us through the special details of the combat, explaining how our protagonist's set of movements and animations are full of action. The protagonist Nor Vanek, armed with a gun and an axe, places a strong emphasis on mobility.

Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn drinks from the source of Hi-Fi Rush

The best part? Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn takes its roots from Hi-Fi Rush and brings some rhythm to the gameplay. Wood explains the logic as follows:

The combat in Flintlock is all rhythm-based, meaning you'll actually be able to feel the rhythm through the animation – so every nine frames is, like, a beat. This way, you can ensure that the player understands when the next attack will occur and reacts accordingly.

Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn is scheduled to release in the reverse of 2024 and will be available on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and Series S.
