The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine is no longer the best expansion in reviews on Metacritic. The 92 average points for Geralt’s adventure were surpassed by the solid 95 for Shadow of the Erdtree, Elden Ring’s DLC, released this Friday (21) on all platforms. With that, CD Projekt RED congratulated FromSoftware for the achievement.

The high score even surpassed the old 2024 highlight on the website: Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, exclusive to PS5, with 92 points. But as we are talking about additional content, CDPR took advantage of the DLC’s arrival to publish the following on X:

For the past eight years, The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine has had the honor of being the highest-rated expansion for an RPG – but Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree can wear that crown now. Congratulations to the entire FromSoftware team.

Shadow of the Erdtree takes players to the Land of Shadows and was highly praised for the content presented in this expansion. The DLC is paid and players need to go through the boss Mohg, Lord of Blood, to access the new part of the story.

Mutirão! Players come together in Elden Ring to defeat Mohg

As mentioned above (and in our tutorial to access the DLC), it is necessary to defeat Mohg to have a clear path to Miquella’s cocoon. For this reason, Elden Ring veterans are helping to annihilate the boss and help newcomers reach the Land of Shadows. Look!
