Tomb Raider remaster generates controversy: is it platinum or not?

Published

Does it have a carburetor or no carburetor? Or better, Is there platinum or not platinum? The Tomb Raider remaster for the current generation had its list of trophies published by the Insider Gaming website, and one detail caught our attention: the achievement after completing all the objectives only appears in the PS4 version and not in the PS5 version.

The collection, which includes the first three titles in the Lara Croft saga, will have almost 300 trophies – 100 for Tomb Raider I, 90 for Tomb Raider II and 82 for Tomb Raider III. Each of them has its own platinum in the past generation. On the ResetEra website, a user suggests a possible explanation that makes sense.

This is probably because of Sony's policy that games can only have platinum trophies if they have their own launchers. As this is not the case, because the titles are in the same “application”, there is no achievement. However, Sony has not commented anything about this, so we have to wait for an official position.

Tomb Raider I-III Remastered will be released on February 14th for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch and PC. PS Plus subscribers can pre-order the game from the PS Store with a 10% discount.

Tomb Raider Remaster shouldn't take up even 4GB on the PS5's SSD

A few days before launch, Tomb Raider I-III Remastered had its size announced on social media. According to the information, on PS5, the collection will require less than 4 GB of available storage, while on PS4 it would have almost double the total number of files.

According to the PlayStation Game Size post on X, the trilogy will require exactly 3,963 GB on Sony's next-generation console and 7,365 GB on the PS4. This data would refer, respectively, to versions 1,000,001 and 1.01 and would not include the Day One patch.
