You finally want to enter the world of Final Fantasy, but don’t know where to start? Then this SNES module might be just the right thing for you: Apparently it can’t really decide for itself and simply combines four different parts in one. This is probably the strangest Internet find of the day.

“Final Fantasy Whatever”: This SNES module combines FF9 with FF8, FF3 and FF6

What the hell? That’s right: A fan has discovered a game module for the Super Famicom aka US-SNES that shouldn’t exist like this. It may seem normal at first glance, but appearances don’t deceive for long.

This apparent bootleg version of the game or rather its probably homemade label borders on a small miracle and should come from a real fan. At least we can’t think of any other meaningful explanation for this completely insane mix.

Possibly was here in painstaking detail work really unique game cover designed. On the left, Final Fantasy 9 protagonist Zidane Tribal is prominently displayed on the module, while the logo has been adopted from FF8, but the title clearly announces Final Fantasy 3. The icing on the cake is that the actual game is Final Fantasy 6.

At least the very last discrepancy can be explained to some extent: In the US, the SNES role-playing game baptized in the original Final Fantasy 6 was sold as Final Fantasy 3. That’s because some of the predecessors never made the leap from Japan to the United States. Of course, that doesn’t explain the rest.

Community reacts amused: The comments under the Reddit post are accordingly amused. Some certify this SNES module as having a serious identity crisis, while others simply call the title “Final Fantasy Whatever”.
