During an official broadcast of Letter from the Producer LIVE No. 79 from the Tokyo Game Show, Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida announced that Patch 6.5: “Growing Light” for Final Fantasy XIV Online It will be released on Tuesday, October 3, 2023. A new trailer gave players a first look at the adventures to come when the Patch launches, including new main scenario missions, a raid with allies, challenges and much more.

- New main scenario missions (Part 1) – The next chapter in the story of the Warrior of Light.
- Nnew dungeon – New challenges await you in “The Lunar Subterrane”.
- Nnew trial: “The Abyssal Fracture” – A new and challenging battle against Zeromus awaits you on “Normal” and “Extreme” difficulties.
- Nnew “Unreal Trial” – Fight in the Singularity Reactor (Unreal) against the fearsome Thordan.
- New “Alliance Raid: Myths of the Realm #3” – Explore the mysteries of Thaleia.
- Expansion in “Duty Support” – With the addition of “Duty Support” to the dungeons “Drowned City of Skalla”, “the Burn”, and “The Ghimlyt Dark”, it is now possible to play through all dungeons within the main scenarios of A Realm Reborn™ until Endwalker™.
- Adjustments to various jobs
- PVP (Player Versus Player) Updates
- PvP Series 5 Begins
- “Crystalline Conflict Minimap” updates and UI updates
- Updates for “Island Sanctuary” – New sanctuary ranges, visions, and gathering areas, as well as new materials, crafting items, crops, animals, islandworks handicrafts, structures, and more!

More information on the most recently announced fifth expansion, dawntrail will be shared during the FINAL FANTASY XIV Fan Festival 2023 in London, from October 21 to October 22, 2023, as well as during Fan Festival 2024 in Tokyo, from January 7 to January 8, 2024.
