The new trailer for the movie Grand Touring reveals that the film will be released in August. According to Colider, the Thursday August 10, 2023 is the release date of GT in United States; and usually, in Latin America, the films are released a day before. So to be right Gran Turismo: From Player to Racer will hit theaters in Colombia and some Latin American countries on Wednesday, August 9.

The story of the movie Gran Turismo: From Player to Racer is based on the life of the British pilot Jann Mardenborough. He was a young winner of the GT Academy competition, sponsored by PlayStation in 2011. Mardenborough faced over 90,000 entrants at the GT Academy and his prize was a start in the Dubai 24 Hours. Jann Mardenborough subsequently went on to become a professional runner.
In an interview that the official PlayStation blog had with Neill Blomkamp, director of Gran Turismo: From Player to Racerhe acknowledged that the film is a departure from his previous projects, such as District 9. “First of all, the film tries to take us along the journey of someone who first experienced these legendary tracks virtually, and then took what he learned in a simulation and applied it to a real life scenario. So I tried to visually connect those two dots using a lot of the images from the games of Grand Touring, such as track lines and markers and checkpoints, as well as prizes for leveling up and things like that.» Additionally, he added, “There are a lot of little Easter eggs in the movie, like some of the game victory poses that our actors recreate in the film. There are also a lot of interesting cars for motor lovers; we did our best to leave interesting cars everywhere whenever we could.”

Gran Turismo: From Player to Racer features performances by Archie Madekwe (midsummer), as Jann Mardenborough; David Harbor (stranger things, Black Widow) as his trainer Jack Salter; and Orlando Bloom (The Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean) as sponsor Danny Moore. Jann’s parents will be played by Djimon Hounsou (Guardians of the Galaxy) and former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell. The director is Neill Blomkamp (District 9, chappie).
