Forspoken: All chapters and the playing time at a glance
We already know how much time we have to plan in order to go on the trip with Frey.
Forspoken promises an action-packed start to the year. After two postponements, the open world game will be released on January 24, 2023 for PS5 and PC. The development team has already revealed how much time you have to plan in order to complete the adventure. Our test also allows us to make our own assessment.
That’s how long the adventure lasts
In an exclusive chat with USAwebsite Esports Extras, co-director Takeshi Terada opened up about the season.
- Accordingly, it should the main story in the range of 30 to 40 hours move.
Of course, this is only an estimate from the developer, from which your actual playing time may vary. In addition, as we know from open world titles, there will also be side missions. Terada has specifically commented on the endgame, which should offer you dungeons.
In our own experience, the game is significantly shorter:
- For the main story you need between 12-15 hoursdepending on how you play.
- If you explore the map, level up your magic and do all the side quests, you’ll come along all side activities to approximately 30 hours.

The chapters in the overview
A total of 13 chapters await you, telling Frey’s story and her adventures in Athia:
- bindings
- stranded
- The invader
- What needs to be done
- With all his might
- How to do it…
- The blue in the stomach
- the truth comes out
- At the end
- As smart as ever
- washed out
- The awakening
- new beginnings
The final chapter lets you explore the world freely after completing the story. You can even discover a few additional quests.
This is what awaits you in Forspoken
You deny the adventure with the New Yorker Frey, who ends up in the magical but also dangerous world of Athia. In this, a powerful event has caused the creatures to be hostile. In addition, Frey, who actually just wants to go home, still has to deal with nasty matriarchs. She uses supernatural abilities herself and occasionally chats with her funny bracelet – which also answers.
If you want to know how Frey’s journey is designed in a playful way, you should take a look at our test:

Forspoken put to the test
Despite fantastic magic, not a magical game
The most important thing about the game mechanics in brief: You can move extremely fast in Athia and use cool parkouring moves on your way. Magic also plays a major role in the fast-paced and action-packed battles. Unfortunately, the title weakens in many other areas and gives away a lot of potential.
What do you say about the specified playing time? Does it turn out the way you want it or imagine it?
