Today, January 10th, Fortnite servers are going down on all platforms (PC, Mac, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch, Android). The maintenance work is used to load a hotfix onto the servers.
What’s happening in Fortnite today? The servers are shut down again in Fortnite. However, this is a shorter update intended to fix some gameplay issues and even bring back a disabled weapon. You can find out when you can gamble again with us.
Update, 10:00 a.m.: The servers have now been shut down and you will now be completely logged out of Fortnite.
Fortnite: Server Down – When and how long are they offline?
This is the downtime in the morning: According to Epic Games, the servers are expected to be shut down at 10:00 a.m. German time to install a hotfix. Matchmaking is already disabled 30 minutes beforehand, so you won’t be able to search for new rounds after 9:30 a.m.
When can you play again? Epic Games itself is talking about a slightly shorter maintenance, you should be able to log in again after an hour at most. If the servers are in sleep mode for a longer period of time, we will keep you informed.
When are the patch notes coming? Epic Games usually posts a short list of patch notes on their site after the update. If that happens, we will list them briefly and clearly for you here.
What new content does the hotfix bring?
What’s new for Battle Royale mode? Fortnite has endured some bugs and issues over the Christmas period, like server crashes or even the broken shockwave hammer that players are exploiting in matches. The developer wants to address these issues today, so we assume that no new content will be implemented this week.
