Freedom Planet 2 will be released on PlayStation, Xbox and Switch consoles in summer 2023

GalaxyTrail has announced through a press release Twitter (via Gematsu) that the versions for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC of Freedom Planet 2 will finally be released in summer 2023. The development studio has taken advantage of the report to remember that the version for computers, which will be available on Steam, will land on September 13 of this year. Of course, it should be noted that the console versions will be released together with additional language optionswhich will come to PC with a patch.

As we can read in the statement, the versions for PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch systems will not arrive until next year due to the fact that are currently in development. “We thank our console fans for their patience, and we will work hard to make the wait worthwhile. The development of the game is now in its final stages, and it only remains to build the sequence of credits and some small scenes. Our entire team has done an outstanding job over the years, and we’re more excited than ever to launch it next month! tweet attached.

The game feature up to 4 playable characters

This peculiar two-dimensional action and platform video game that has been in development since the Nintendo Wii U generation -at the time was announced as a title for this system- have four playable characters that will be unlocked from the beginning of the game. Each of them will have a unique combat style: Lilac the Dragon Girl will be very fast, while Carol the Wildcat will be specialized in combat, Milla the Hound in exploration and Neera the Frost Knight will be “power type”. All the characters will be able to go through levels full of treasures and with over 100 NPCs to converse with.
