Friday the 13th franchise could get a reboot
The oldest and most original horror franchise Friday the 13th could be coming back from the grave after 14 years.
An exclusive interview conducted by Bloody Disgusting with film writer Jeff Locker revealed his collaboration with Friday the 13th producer Sean S. Cunningham on a potential new project:
“Sean hired me to do a rewrite of The Night Driver and after working closely with him and director Jeremy Weiss on it, we naturally got talking about Friday the 13th and House. Jeremy and I launched our dream reboot of Friday the 13th, with Sean’s blessing to continue developing it with him.”
Then he added:
Obviously, the prequel TV series has reignited interest in a new movie, so we hope that the excitement surrounding them will inspire both sides to come together and bring Jason to the big screen again for the first time in 14 years. , but we also have a Plan B for a sequel to the original that we think fans will love and should avoid any legal entanglements.”
Nothing official yet, of course, but at least we’re hopeful that Jason Voorhees’ deadly return is a little closer.
