We all know the path of RockstarGames. It would be difficult to find someone who has never played one of its titles, we are no longer just talking about GTA, but Canis Canem Edit, Manhunt or Max Payne (although they only led the project for the third installment of the latter). The trajectory of the Americans has been full, but it ran into a huge stumbling block last 2020: the departure of Dan Houser. Now, the Rockstar co-founder already knows where he will spend his time, and the blockchain is in the equation.
With his homework done and with a huge future ahead of him, the one who is one of the founding fathers of Rockstar has become part of Revolving Games as part of Advisory Board of the company. His jump to the advisory chair has been given, thanks to the information collected by VGC, after a round of financing of 13.2 million dollars.
But what is Revolving Games? The trajectory of this small company might not be as important as the one it left behind 2 years ago. We are talking about a company with 2 development studies of more than 100 workers that began its adventures in 2020 under two clear pillars: the video games development and technology Web3. If we put them together, we are talking about games with a very clear focus on blockchain and cryptocurrencies like business model.
An ideal with which they have achieved collect more of $25 million for the development of several projects and have signed a collaboration and distribution agreement with Universal Studios for an adaptation of Battlestar Galactica. Therefore, we are talking about a studio that seeks to make its mark in the industry and, according to its CEO Saad Zaeem, “Revolving Games will be at the forefront of this evolution while continuing to release titles that rival the best in the traditional video game industry.”
While Sam Houser, his brother and co-founder, remains at the helm of Rockstar Games as CEO, Dan sought new horizons after a break in 2019, a year after the release of Red Dead Redemption 2. Since then, and at margin of this new contract, Dan created Absurd Ventures Games where he serves as executive producer.
