Gamecube and Wii emulator ‘Dolphin’ coming to Steam this year
If you’re a dedicated PC gamer who likes to try out a console exclusive from time to time, you’re probably familiar with how the world of emulation works. While it was once an obscure and outlaw practice, it seems that emulating games is much more common now, as the announcement of Dolphinthe Gamecube and Wii emulation software, and its upcoming arrival on the Steam store.
As confirmed on the Dolphin website, the store page for the emulator is already live, but it will be available for download in the second quarter of this year.
“We are delighted to finally tell the world about our experiment. It has been the product of many months of work, and we are looking forward to seeing it in the hands of users soon!”
Other emulators have made their way to Steam in the past, so this isn’t surprising, but it does point out that it may soon be easier than ever to be able to play hitherto legally inaccessible games on your PC.
