Nobuo Uematsu slowly says goodbye to Final Fantasy |

the fainal

There is very little time left until it is finally launched Final Fantasy VII Rebirthsecond part of the remake that we saw released for the last generation console sonyand which now follows the path of the iconic characters in their fight to rid the world of Sephiroth. And it is well known that something of vital importance for the franchise is its music, since the composer of the soundtrack of the original installment of PS1, Nobuo Uematsuhas made notes that remain to remember, but there is something that can be sad.

In the last game we had the presence of the musician with a new main theme and some orchestral arrangements of his own work, although these were minor contributions compared to when he was in his glory days, creating the entire OST without any help. Now with Rebirththings are going downhill, because although arrangements continue to be made, they are no longer on the part of the artist, ensuring that for the delivery he has only contributed one piece, not much more.

Specifically, he has created the theme known as No Promises to Keep, which is also the main theme of the game, as happened with the previous title, and with this it has become clear that he will not fully return to creating complete soundtracks for specific projects. He has stated this in a new interview, because at this moment it could be that he is already planning for some retirement, after all he has worked on many OSTs, including the saga final fantasy until the tenth game.

Here is a brief description of the composer:

Nobuo Uematsu is a world-renowned Japanese composer, primarily recognized for his work in the video game industry. Born on March 21, 1959 in Kochi, Japan, Uematsu is known for his prolific and notable contributions to the music of numerous video game titles, especially Square Enix's “Final Fantasy” role-playing game (RPG) series (formerly SquareSoft).

Uematsu joined Square in 1986 as a full-time employee after working as a freelance composer. His first big break came with “Final Fantasy” in 1987, where he created the game's soundtrack, including the series' iconic theme song. Since then, he has composed the music for most of the main “Final Fantasy” titles, earning cult status among video game fans for his ability to create memorable and exciting melodies.

Remember that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth he arrives February 29 for PS5.

Editor's note: It was obvious that his retirement is imminent, given that he has not currently contributed much to the world of video games. After years of working on them, it's not a bad idea to live off royalties and enjoy other elements of life that aren't necessarily video games.
