Spotlight Hour today with 4 different monsters and XP bonus

There's another spotlight hour in Pokémon GO today, March 19, 2024, with 4 different monsters taking center stage. We have summarized below what these will be, whether they are available as shinys and what bonus you can also look forward to.

What is a Spotlight Hour? Spotlight Hour takes place every Tuesday in Pokémon GO. In this case, a selected Pokémon takes center stage for an hour and then appears to spawn at every corner in the wild. The event should also be enhanced with an additional bonus.

Today, March 19, 2024, the 3rd spotlight hour in March is coming up and, unlike other events of this kind, four different monsters will spawn for you: Vulpix, Quapsel, Schneppke and Hippopotas. We have summarized below what you can expect from the short event and whether it is even worth it.

Spotlight Hour on March 19th – Launch, Bonuses & Shiny

When does the event start? The spotlight hour starts today, like every Tuesday, promptly at 6:00 p.m. You then have one hour to use the content of the short event until it ends at 7:00 p.m.

Which bonuses are active? During the one-hour event today you can meet Vulpix, Quapsel, Schneppke and Hippopotas everywhere in the wild. If the regular spawns aren't enough for you, you can use smoke to attract more specimens. The event is rounded off with an XP bonus when catching. During this time you will receive double experience points for every Pokémon you catch.

Is the spotlight hour worth it?

What kind of Pokémon are these? The fire Pokémon Vulpix and the water Pokémon Quapsel are two monsters from the 1st generation of games. Vulpix can be developed into Vulnona. In addition to its first development, Quaputzi, Quapsel also has two other developments that you can choose between: Quappo and Quaxo.

Schneppke, on the other hand, is an Ice Pokémon from the 3rd generation of games, which you can further develop into Firmontor or Frosdedje depending on your gender. The ground Pokémon Hippopotas comes from the 4th generation, which only has one further development, Hippotherus.

Can you catch the Pokémon as Shiny? Yes, with a bit of luck you can catch all four monsters in their respective shiny forms. However, unlike at Community Days, the chances of this are not increased.

Who is the event worthwhile for? The spotlight hour today is particularly worthwhile for trainers who want to go shiny hunting. The bonus also makes it easy to farm experience points when catching. This can also be used for other monsters that you catch during this time. So if you don't feel like Vulpix, Quapsel, Schneppke and Hippopotas, you can also light up a wonder box.

If you are looking for a strong example for the raids or the GO battle league, you will probably not find what you are looking for among the four monsters. None of them or their evolutions are among the best attackers in Pokémon GO. Quappo and Hippoterus are just solid alternatives for the GO Battle League.

Will you be taking advantage of the spotlight hour with the four monsters today? Or are you hoping for the next event of this kind? Please let us know in the comments here on MeinMMO and exchange ideas with other trainers.
