Gran Turismo 7: Update 1.31 not only includes new cars, but also 120 FPS support
The update includes a lot of content for Gran Turismo 7.
Updated at 4:30 p.m: The PlayStation Blog has now revealed the official content of the update, including the five new cars:
- Audi RS 5 Turbo DTM ’19
- Porsche 959 ’87
- Porsche Carrera GTS (904) ’64
- Toyota Alphard Executive Lounge ’18
- Mazda3X ’19
This is also new:
- Two new track layouts for the Nürburgring: long distance and sprint
- scapes: Cherry blossoms
- 120FPS-Support for PS5
Original message: The upcoming update for Gran Turismo 7 comes with a package full of improvements and innovations. In the ResetEra forum, user Lant_War summarized what has been leaked so far for the update and what content we can look forward to.
Gran Turismo 7 gets a technical upgrade
- When is the update coming? The patch is due tomorrow, i.e. on March 30, 2023 be available.
What innovations will there be? The highlight of the update is probably the 120 Hz and VRR support. It’s not entirely clear if this will be a separate mode, but the user suspects that the technique will be used in the regular mode. The only requirement for this is a compatible screen.
Other content includes:
- Five new cars
- Nurnburgring endurance layouts
- New events
- Two new extra menus
- Adjusted times for missions, licenses, and track experience to account for the physics changes
- 120Hz and VRR support
Gran Turismo 7 producer Kazunori Yamauchi has already revealed an image with the appropriate silhouettes for the five new cars. Fans suspect that behind the shadows is an Audi RS5 DTM, a Toyota Alphard, a Mazda 3, a Porsche 904 Carrera GTS and a Porsche 959:

Regarding the driving physics, there should be changes to the suspension and tire physics as well as to the aerodynamics. In addition, adjustments are made to the traction control, ABS and some other systems of the car.
In addition, some controller input settings will be adjusted for force feedback and steering.

Long support for Gran Turismo 7
Gran Turismo 7 was originally released on March 4th, 2022 for PS4 and PS5. Since then, major updates have been published at regular intervals, constantly expanding the fleet and route list.
Since February 22, 2023 there is also PSVR 2 support. Almost the entire game can be experienced in VR using the free VR mode. The split-screen mode is an exception: it is not available as a VR variant.
