Grand Theft Auto Online has a serious security flaw on the PC. There have been cases where players have lost all their progress in the game, or lost access to their game account. The operating system can also be compromised, when hackers can access files on a computer or, in extreme cases, introduce malware into it – run an unwanted program. Fortunately, such cases have not yet been recorded.
It happened to some players that their account in GTA Online a billion dollars landed, for which they received a ban from Rockstar. In other cases, you couldn’t play, the camera went crazy, you couldn’t walk with the character, etc.
Well-known insider Tez2, who specializes in GTA, claims that Rockstar is aware of the problem and is working to fix it. The developers have not yet commented on the situation. Anyway, most modders recommend Do not play GTA Online on your computer, so that your account and computer are not attacked through an exploit (previously this affected Dark Souls). If the attack still occurs, it should help to delete the Rockstar Games folder from your computer’s documents and then launch GTA Online to restore the data from the server.
Speyedr, the creator of Guardian, a popular firewall for GTA Online that protects against cheaters, also recommends waiting to play. Speyedr is concerned that his tool may not be misused, so he has temporarily blocked access to it. You should also not use Guardian downloaded from external sources, as it is likely to be an outdated version of the software.
We will monitor the situation and as soon as there is something new, we will update the article or write a new one.
#GTAOnline Warning Update:
The exploit is partial remote code execution.
Paid mod menus are racing as speak to abuse this to the further extent.
This could transform into something much worse to extend beyond a game and affect your PC. https://t.co/eDtVrOGXQn
