Hogwarts Legacy – All 26 Confirmed Spells and what they do
hex, hex! Unsurprisingly, you can also use magic in Hogwarts Legacy and the trailer has already revealed a whole range of spells.
Hogwarts Legacy lets you learn various spells and then of course use them. We have listed for you here what these are.
Last update on February 01, 2023: Based on the Hogwarts Legacy previews of the last few days and our own preview session, we have now added all 26 spells that will be in the game for you.
These 26 spells are in Hogwarts Legacy
In Hogwarts Legacy you will learn a total of 26 spells in different categories on your adventure. We summarize them for you here in a nutshell:
control
- Arresto Momentum: This spell can be used to stop people in free fall.
- Glacius: An elemental spell that is often used in games, for example to freeze water.
- Levioso: Used to levitate objects, a variant of Wingardium Leviosa.
- transformation: Exactly how this spell will work and what or who we transform with it is still unknown.
power
- Accio: With this summoning spell you can, for example, summon certain things.
- Depulso: It’s the counterspell to Accio, letting you push things away.
- descent: Smashes enemies or objects onto the ground.
- flipendo: Use this to spin your target around in mid-air. If the target is on the ground, they will be knocked back.
Damage
- bombarda: Causes an explosion and is mostly used on objects like locks in the universe.
- Confringo: Also creates a powerful explosion.
- diffindo: Cuts or tears things.
- expellarmus: Knock things out of the hands of your opponents.
- Incendio: Generates fire.
To use
- Disillusionment Spell aka I can’t see right spell: Used for camouflage.
- lumos: Let it be light! Used for general enlightenment.
- protego: A type of shield spell that can reflect weapons and curses.
- repair: Repairs items that are broken. For example the bridge in the trailer.
- Revelio: The spell allows invisible objects and living beings to be displayed.
- stupor: Enemies are effectively frozen, they freeze and fall unconscious.
- Wingardium Leviosa: A levitation spell that makes things or beings levitate in the air.
Polymorph (Room of Requirement only)
- Alteration Spell: It is not yet known who or what we will change with it.
- Summoning Spells: What or who we are summoning here is still unknown. But probably that’s how our fantastic beings come into the Room of Requirement.
- Evanesco: Makes objects or substances disappear.
Unforgivable Curse
- Avada Kedavra: One of the forbidden, unforgivable death curses. Causes instant death.
- crucio: A curse that tortures the victim in excruciating pain until the wand is lowered
- empire: A curse that turns the victim into a mindless puppet.

Rowling continues to be active in anti-LGBTQIA+ rhetoric and actively supports anti-trans policies in the UK. Hogwarts Legacy – Alluded to: preview of the great open world hope
The fact that you can also pronounce the killing curse Avada Kedavra strongly suggests that you can also choose to play an evil wizard or witch in Hogwarts Legacy. This would also go well with the previous notes:

It won’t be long before Hogwarts Legacy comes out. At least on the PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC you can get started on February 7th. PS4 and Xbox One will follow in April and then it’s the turn of Switch in July.
