Hogwarts Legacy: Can I play Quidditch in the new Harry Potter game?
According to official information, Hogwarts Legacy does not contain any possibilities to play Quidditch.
Hogwarts Legacy is set at the magic school that Harry Potter later went to and we get to ride broomsticks. This raises the question of the possibility of being able to play Quidditch as well. But if you hope for it, you have to be very strong now. According to the makers, there shouldn’t be an opportunity to do so in the game. But that was probably originally planned differently, as leaks could now show.
JK Rowling’s transphobia: The success of Hogwarts Legacy indirectly benefits Harry Potter author JK Rowling, who participates through existing publishing rights and the associated sale of the books. Rowling continues to be active in anti-LGBTQIA+ rhetoric and actively supports anti-trans policies in the UK. If you want to find out more about the topic, you can find further information here and here.
No, you cannot play Quidditch in Hogwarts Legacy
Not officially: On the official website for Hogwarts Legacy, there is also one about Quidditch in the frequently asked questions (FAQ=Frequently Asked Questions). But the sport with broom flying is immediately rejected:
“Quidditch cannot be played in Hogwarts Legacy. However, travel and broom racing are part of the game.”
But you can certainly jet through the area on a broomstick and it can even be optically adjusted and improved if you complete certain quests. You can see what the broomstick flight looks like in this Hogwarts Legacy video:

Hogwarts legacy leaks: Quidditch was apparently planned
There are new leaks to Hogwarts Legacy and they suggest that the title was originally designed to be able to play Quidditch in it.
On the one hand there is a leaked, apparently very old screenshot. It shows a character in full Quidditch gear, with appropriate headgear and all the trimmings. This looks obvious, but of course it could also just be cosmetic content. The outfit may even still be in the game without the sport (via: GameRant).
Then there’s another leak claiming that Quidditch was definitely planned for Hogwarts Legacy – complete with all four playing positions (seeker, hunter, beater and keeper) and everything else that goes with it. The project was then abandoned after a year of production (via: Twitter).
But beware! With all these leaks it is not possible to check whether they correspond to the truth. Accordingly, you should treat them with due caution and classify them as claims and speculation.

Could Quidditch still come? With all the assumptions, many fans still have hope that Quidditch might be released as a DLC or something similar at some point. It’s not entirely impossible, of course, but there’s no evidence of it either.
Would you like to play Quidditch at Hogwarts Legacy? Are you hoping for it to come at some point?
