How the writers of The Mandalorian have removed Cara Dune from the series
the character of dune faceperformed so far by Gina Carano, appeared quite frequently in the first two seasons of The Mandalorian. However, after some politically insensitive remarks by the actress in which she seemed to compare criticism from American conservatives to the persecution of Jews in the Holocaust, Carano was removed from the series.
This created a problem for the writers of the series of the new Star Wars universe that Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni are building, as Filoni himself and Rick Famuyiwa told Deadline. It seems that, although the idea of addressing the departure of Dune was an idea that was considered in the writers room, in the end the series decided to go ahead without pointing out the missing character.
“The third season is primarily about the Mandalorians and the Mandalorian saga, the history of the Mandalorians,” Dave Filoni emphasized. “(There are) different characters that [Din Djarin ha] known since Bo-Katan (who) take on a lot more of the limelight, which makes sense where his arc is going, his and Grogu’s story, specifically.”
The third season of The Mandalorian begins airing from tomorrow March 1 on Disney+. Are you going to see her?
