How to Train your Dragon Live Action already has its protagonists
Mason Thames and Nico Parker will star as Hiccup and Astrid in the new live action adaptation of the DreamWorks animated film, “How to Train Your Dragon.” The film will be directed by Dean DeBlois and will be released on March 14, 2025.
The new live action adaptation will take the audience into the imaginative universe of DreamWorks Animation. Ever since the original animated epic was released in 2010, fans have been captivated by the unlikely friendship between a teenage Viking and a fearsome dragon.
Thames is fresh off her breakout role in Universal’s The Black Phone, where she starred opposite Ethan Hawke. She then starred in the Artists Road/Spyglass film Incoming. Thames will next be seen opposite Oscar-winning actor-director Mel Gibson in Boys of Summer.
On the other hand, Parker has participated in the successful HBO series, The Last of Us, along with Pedro Pascal. Her acting debut was in the live-action adaptation of Tim Burton’s Dumbo, released by Disney.
