I put 426 hours into the first one, now its sequel is “free” on Game Pass and Steam with the content of 3 games in one

Total War: Warhammer 3 is one of the most massive strategy video game projects that we have had the pleasure of testing. The community certainly praised the ending of The Creative Assembly trilogy, although the British haven’t had it all that easy. Now, they want to thank the support of their community with the launch of Immortal Empires out of its beta and “free” for everyone.

For those of you who don’t know, Immortal Empires is the sequel to Mortal Empires, the mode that brought together the Total War Warhammer and Warhammer 2 experience into a complete, global, and massive experience. It was kind of like a new game. We don’t just talk about hours and hours of content —426 has a server—, but it supposed the Perfect complement for an IP that benefits from epic.

After a 2022 somewhat lacking in content and with Immortal Empires having landed in the game last summer, the British have a surprise for us as of today: this mode will be available free for all Warhammer 3 players no need to buy the previous games. Far from being minor news, we are talking about a bombshell, and that is that to have the most complete experience, we had to have the previous games on Steam.

This was a problem beyond the money invested, since some players got hold of one of these games on the Epic Games Store, especially when the store gave them away. So, now you will be able to access the Immortal Empires campaEsports Extraswithout owning any previous game or DLCs.

Of course, there are a series of requirements to squeeze the full experience. Access to Legendary Lords and some factions will only be available if you own the previous games and/or DLC. What content is available without paying beyond the third game? Hundreds of hours of content, multiplayer for up to 8 players and the content and 3 game maps on one only.

This is enough to recommend Immortal Empires and therefore Total War: Warhammer 3, but there is more. Since last summer, the game is part of PC GamePass and, based on the response of the official Twitter account to this publication, Immortal Empires will be playable if you have the subscription service. Hence doubly “free”.

While it is a “problem” that you have to purchase the base game on Steam to enjoy this content, Immortal Empires worth enough like throwing yourself into the pool. If not now, maybe when it’s on sale again.
