Improving your Elden Ring FPS is as “easy” as cutting the tree piece in its center, and a modder has done it
When Elden Ring came out, one of the things that was criticized the most was the performance. For a game that, on a technical level, is not a marvel, many players suffered frame drops even with much more powerful equipment than recommended. Now, months later, some users are still experiencing problems, and a modder has decided to solve them in the most unexpected way: ax in hand, has cut down the tree most iconic of the game.
Remove Erd Tree (FPS BOOST) is the name of the mod created by the user K4richard. And, well, it does exactly what it says, remove the golden tree that can be seen in our adventures to get better performance. According to the modder, he managed to double his frame rate thanks to this. Yes, there is a bit of a trick.
As K4richard told the PCGamer portal, his hardware configuration was far from ideal.. With a GTX 1030, it was clear that I was not going to be able to play at 4K 120 FPS. According to him, as he got closer to the end of the game (and, therefore, to the tree), his FPS was falling and falling, until he decided to remove it, along with its particle effects, which were impacting his performance. .
Thanks to all this, in the end it happened 15fps to the long-awaited minimum 30. Although yes, the mod is not perfect. Its creator warns that it is an unfinished version (in fact, there are some branches flying in the sky, as if it were a reminder of the presence of the great tree), and he wants to continue working on it, but he decided to publish his project quickly so that other players in his position could take advantage of it.
In the end, this is a very curious story that surely not many players use. If you’re having FPS issues above the minimum recommendations, there’s a chance this mod will help you, but there’s also a chance it won’t. For those who want to play with weaker teams, they may be faced with his Holy Grail.
