Anti-piracy protection Denuvo they don’t like players. They consider it controversial and point to a higher processor load for games that use DRM. On the other hand, it turns out again that Denuvo is one of the few protections that actually works.
Last year Denuvo has protected 36 titles and only in one case was the protection breached. Cracknut was an action survival Dying Light 2 Stay Humane from Poland’s Techland, reports CrackWatch.
Denuvo for 2022 was in games like FIFA 23, F1 22, Monster Hunter: Rise, Sniper Elite 5, The Callisto Protocol, Sonic Frontiers, Gotham Knights, Need for Speed Unbound, Marvel’s Midnight Suns, Total War: Warhammer 3 or Two Point Campus.
So the result is impressive and it’s no wonder that publishers are paying for this weapon in the fight against piracy. Denuvo will be implemented into, for example Hogwarts Legacy, Resident Evil 4 Remake, Deliver Us Mars or Forspoken.
Denuvo Anti-Cheat appeared in 2019 from the Austrian company Denuvo Software Solutions GmbH. and since then, the protection has been improved and it turns out that crackers have more and more problems to break the program. But it also turns out that Denuvo uses fewer and fewer games.
GAMES WORK BETTER WITHOUT DENUVA
As far as CPU load is concerned, Digital Foundry conducted an experiment comparing the pirated version of Resident Evil Village with the retail version. The pirated version did not contain DRM and it was found that it worked much better than Capcom’s released version. Other comparisons turned out similarly, when it was proven that games without Denuv achieve higher frame ratesthey do not load the processor as much and load faster.
For example, Doom Eternal players can narrate. In 2020, two months after release, Denuvo was added to the game via a patch. Players immediately started complaining about the game’s performance. In the end, the developers at id Software removed Denuvo from the game in less than a week.
