Intel Arc A770 and A750 GPU: specifications, performance and price

Intel has finally taken the step and its high-end Arc GPUs already have final specifications, release date and price. With the launch of the Arc A770 and Arc A750, Intel wants to compete with the best it has been able to create with the Alchemist architecture. Although the Intel Arc A770 and A750 they will not be able to compete in performance with the highest range of NVIDIA and AMD, their main advantage will be the price and having a good return per euro invested will be crucial.

High-end Intel dedicated graphics are already a reality and will soon be on the market. Although the date chosen by Pat Gelsinger’s company does not seem to have been very appropriate, since it is The same day that the launch of NVIDIA RTX 4090 and RTX 4080the next October 12 °. Perhaps Intel’s strategy is to attract all those customers who wanted an NVIDIA RTX 40, but don’t have enough money. But if we think about it, these belong to completely different ranges.

Final specifications, price and date of the Intel Arc A770 and A750

In the absence of a few weeks for its launch, Intel already puts all the data on the table. starting with the A770 Limited Editionthis will bring a total of 32 Xe Cores/Ray Tracing Units, with 512 XMX Engines, giving a total of 4,096 Stream Processors and all at a clock frequency of 2,100MHz. Regarding memory, this would reach a maximum of 16GB GDDR6 at 17.5Gbps with a 256-bit interface, so it would give a bandwidth of 560GB/s. will use PCIe 4.0 x16 and will have will use 8 +6 pins for its food, since it has a TBP of 225W.

Beyond this, it will be able to encode and decode AV1will have 3 Display Ports 2.0, 1 HDMI 2.1 and a size of 10.5″ length beside 2 slots thick. We now turn to the Arc A750 Limited Editionwhich will have 28 Xe Cores/Ray Tracing and 448 XMX Engines, giving a total of 3,584 Stream Processors. It will run at a clock rate of 2,050MHz and will have 8GB GDDR6 at 16Gbps with a 256-bit bus, with a bandwidth of 512GB/s. From here it will be exactly same as A770then you will have 8+6 pins, 225W and dimensions of 26.67 cm and 2 slots.

Now we turn to the price, which as we know Intel is aware that GPUs are getting more expensive. Therefore, he has decided that the Arc A750 8GB have a price that part of the $289. The curious thing comes when it shows the cost of its superior range, raising the price $40 more, since the Arc A770 8GB will depart from $329 while the A770 16GB it will cost $349.

Intel ensures up to 53% more performance / dollar invested

Intel knows that if they wanted to compete, they had to do it on price, since we have been saying for months that the Arc A750 and A770 will not be like a high-end NVIDIA. However, despite its performance being similar to the RTX 3060 or slightly higher in the case of the A770, the FPS/dollar ratio is much higher with Arc GPUs. At least, under the words of Intel and its promise that the Intel Arc A770 will offer a 42% yield/dollar and the A750 raise the bar even higher, reaching a 53% yield/dollarboth compared against the RTX 3060.

Willing to be the alternative for all those who do not want to spend what an RTX 4070 or 4080 is worth, they put the A750 vs RTX 3060, its direct rival. As we can see in the graph of games at 1440P with high graphics (using only titles with DirectX 11 and DirectX 12), we can see that the A750 and the RTX 3060 offer a performance on par. And it is that, in some, NVIDIA loses, such as in F1 2021, Metro Exodus, Red Dead Redemption 2. On the other hand, in others we see the A750 being surpassed by a lot, as in League of Legends or Rocket League.

But things change as soon as Intel uses the performance graph/$where we see the A750 slaughter the RTX 3060. Refering to A770the performance against NVIDIA is not shown, but if you go back to see the comparison of FPS/$, where we see a similar scenario, since the A770 also destroys the RTX 3060 in power / price. We’ll see how they come out in the end, because the drivers need improvementbut the prices have surprised for good.
