InXile Announces Clockwork Revolution, a Steampunk RPG About Time Travel
InXile’s next game is Clockwork Revolution, a first-person Steampunk RPG focused on time travel, it was announced during the Xbox Games Showcase. The game features battles against huge mechs, the use of Steampunk-inspired weaponry, and the fight against the rulers of the city.
The trailer shows off some fast-paced first-person shooter gameplay, though Steampunk guns aren’t the only weaponry option available. There is other advanced technology such as shock grenades, a device that makes enemies float, and even time travel. Time travel seems to play a large part in the story of Clockwork Revolution, showing different versions of the city depending on who is in control of time.
As detailed on the Xbox Wire, Clockwork Revolution takes place in the Victorian-era city of Avalon, ruled by Lady Ironwood. Lady Ironwood has used time travel to change historical events, amassing her own fortune at the expense of the working class. The player obtains a time travel device and must return to key moments to fight Lady Ironwood and change the present.
Although no official release date has been announced, Clockwork Revolution is expected to be available on Xbox Series X|S and PC. The game will also be available on Xbox Game Pass upon launch.
