James Gunn Reveals the ‘Secret Lead’ of the Guardians of the Galaxy Movies
James Gunn has revealed that, in addition to Peter Quill/Starlord as the main protagonist of the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy, rocket He is the “secret protagonist” of the Marvel film series.
Speaking to Total Film, Gunn said: “Rocket is the secret lead in Guardians of the Galaxy, and he’s always been the center of it for me, and this is really fulfilling that. The reason I came back and decided to do this movie was because he really felt that Rocket’s story needed to be told, and he got hung up after Volume 2.”
He also elaborated on his Twitter profile, where he confirmed that this was not just the case with Vol.3, and that Rocket should be considered the secret protagonist of the entire trilogy. Since it looks like Rocket will get some major character development in Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3, it looks like we’ll see what exactly Gunn is referring to with his phrase “secret protagonist.”
