For a few years now, the Mortal Kombat series has been introducing post-launch guest characters from all media, and the upcoming Mortal Kombat 1 will not be the exception. Some of the confirmed characters include DC’s Peacemaker, Invincible’s Omni-Man, and The Boys’ Homelander who will be added as DLC fighters after the game’s release.
In addition to having the appearance of their television counterparts, they will also feature the voices that have represented them in their respective series. The head of Nether Realm Studios and Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon confirmed in a recent interview with Esports Extrasthat John Cena, who plays Peacemaker in the DC Universe, will be voicing the character for Mortal Kombat 1.
It was previously confirmed that Omni-Man will also be played by his original actor, JK Simmons. Whether or not that means we can expect The Boys actor Antony Starr to voice Homelander for the DLC remains to be seen.
Boon recently also spoke about the similarities between Homelander and Omni-Man’s powers and abilities, assuring fans that they won’t just be clones of each other when they appear in Mortal Kombat 1, in terms of how they play.
Mortal Kombat 1 will launch on September 19 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
