LawBreakers: Its creator wants to resurrect the ‘shooter’ with the help of Nexon
Cliff Bleszinksi hinted a few days ago that there would be some news related to his LawBreakershe shooter in first person launched in 2017 for PlayStation 4 and PC that did not achieve the expected success and closed its servers a year later. This week he has confirmed that he wants to bring it back, although the decision is not in his hand.
Well, turns out Nexon does own the rights to LawBreakers. @owenmahoney how about sliding into my DMs so we can talk about a resurrection? — Cliff Bleszinski (@therealcliffyb) April 19, 2023
“Well, it turns out that Nexon has the rights to LawBreakers. Owen Mahoney, How about we talk in private messages about a resurrection?“, commented CliffyB on Twitter. Mahoney is the CEO of Nexon, the publisher of the game, and at least publicly has not responded to the request. We also do not know who would be in charge of keeping the game active and updated, since the developer Boss Key Productions closed after the failure of LawBreakers and radical heightsa battle royale created in a hurry that are released in Early Access to try to pick up some of the success in the shadow of Fortnite and pubg.
I liked the game, but it had a very short life
“LawBreakers It is a game that knows how to raise our adrenaline to the maximum thanks to its dizzying way of understanding the action, taking us back to a time when the shooter competitive were characterized by their speed and immediacy, and where the skill of the player was everythingalthough the occasion has also been used to introduce a good number of modern details to adapt to current times”, we commented in his analysis.
Despite the good reviews from the media and players, it was clear from the beginning that it had not managed to attract a very large community of users. As a desperate measure the team abandoned the project and focused on radical heightswhich in this case was harshly criticized for its low quality.
