Layers of Fear reveals the character The Writer in extensive gameplay

Bloober Team and Anshar Studios have released extensive gameplay of their upcoming Layers of Fear, the latest entry in the horror series. It introduces the Writer, a new playable character, as he enters the lighthouse and explores the story that ties together all the events of the previous games.

Players will return to the House from the first game and use the new Lantern, which seems to burn certain dark phenomena. Many of the scenes will be familiar, taken from the painter’s perspective, but the actor’s journey in Layers of Fear 2 is also present.

Layers of Fear introduces both games and their DLC with a new chapter, “The Final Note”, which provides another perspective on the first game. It uses Unreal Engine 5 with Lumen, ray tracing, volumetric lighting, HDR and Niagara support.

Layers of Fear it will be released in June 2023 for PS5, Xbox Series X / S and PC. You can see the gameplay below.
