Lenovo You have seen how information regarding your portable console has continued to leak Legion Gothe latest leak being the use of an APU AMD Ryzen Z1. Specifically, this time new images have been leaked that reveal part of the hardware used. We can also see part of the design, and even a diagram with all the connections and buttons that the console incorporates.
Basically, we could be before the most complete portable console with PC hardware on the market. This implies great connectivity skills, a huge number of buttons, with even a wheel that will have the same use as the mouse wheel. As if that were not enough, it will even offer support for Legion augmented reality glasses.
The Lenovo Legion Go will arrive with the AMD Ryzen Z1 APU
It wasn’t a surprise. There were only two possible options, the AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme or the Ryzen 7 7840U. At the specification level, both APUs are the same. The only difference is that the Ryzen Z1 family is optimized for portable consoles. This translates into having lower TDP levels to reduce the minimum consumption that it is capable of generating.
Although the images only refer to an AMD Ryzen Z1 Series APU, it is logical to think that it uses the Ryzen Z1 Extremesince otherwise, it would be at a disadvantage in terms of performance with the ASUS ROG Allyand many other Asian consoles.
This SoC is made up of 8 cores and 16 threads using AMD Zen 4 architecture. These cores achieve a Base frequency of 3.30 GHz and a Turbo frequency of 5.10GHz. Obviously, its strong point is the graphics AMD Radeon 780M with a total of 768 Stream Processors.
This translates into having an iGPU with performance comparable to the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650. Obviously, this APU will be linked to 16GB of RAM LPDDR5X. At the storage level, it is expected between 512 GB and 1 TB of capacity in the form of NVMe SSD storage.
Thanks to the new leaks, these are the new details we know about the console
The Lenovo Legion Go arrives with nothing less than 20 programmable buttons. To this is added the crosshead, a trackpad and two joysticks with RGB lighting like the ASUS ROG. We have a pair of speakers at the top, a pair of microphones at the bottom, a USB-C port, space for a microSD card, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
We can see that, in the back, we have two mesh spaces through which the fan will absorb the fresh air to cool the chip. The hot air will exit from the top of the console. We can’t see much of the heatsink, just a blower fan with a huge number of fins. This would imply that the fan is aluminum to additionally help with chip cooling.
The rest of the information we know happens because the console was photographed next to the Legion Augmented Reality glasses. This makes a lot of sense, as you have to remember that the controllers can be removed from the body of the console. This involves putting on glasses connected to the console, and using the controls as controllers while you are immersed in the digital world.
Since a lot of information has already been leaked, it would not be surprising if Lenovo announces its Legion Go console with AMD Ryzen Z1 APU soon. Hopefully, starting next week.
