A trailer for the game, somewhat unwieldy named Like A Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, was shown during Summer Game Fest. Popular hero Kiryu returns in this new Yakuza installment.

Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name – First trailer for the Yakuza spin-off
The new game has now got an official release date. It will be released on November 9, 2023 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and for PC. The events in the new game tie directly into the storyline of Yakuza 6. In keeping with the title, the popular character has left his old name behind and is now called Joryu.

In the story, he tries to live as a monk, but still can’t quite leave the old habits or jobs behind. Instead of the turn-based battles that the main series has relied on since part 7, real-time action is back here.
