Loop8: Summer of Gods, a new JRPG from Marvelous, shows its gameplay on video
XSEED Games and developer Marvelous have shown extensive gameplay of Loop8: Summer of Gods, his JRPG that will arrive on June 6 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. The video reviews the daily life of the protagonist, Nini, and her encounter with the first boss in the story.
The title promises that decisions will change the course of the world on this story of teenagers that is set in rural Japan in the 80s. “Take charge of the life of Nini, a young newcomer to Earth who moves to the picturesque town of Ashihara in August 1983. Explore the town, make friends of its inhabitants and face the kegai in turn-based fights where the result will depend on the relationships you have forged and the decisions you have made”, says its story.
Thanks to Nini’s special connection with the gods we will be able to restore the world: each loop allowing Nini and her allies to relive the eighth month over and over again until they find the final solution, or until the kegai crush them completely. “If there was only one month left until the end of the world, how would you spend each day?” says the study.
Relive the past to change the future
Marvelous says that the artificial intelligence system of Loop8based on emotions reacts to all your actions and decisions. “The feelings and history of the characters will be very different depending on what you choose, so each game will be totally unique.”
“Although the destruction of mankind is inexorably approaching, the ultimate fate of Ashihara rests in your hands. Return again and again to the beginning of August, change your actions and see how the story varies between the multiple endings of the game“.
