The Lords of the Fallen trailer introduces the setting, combat, and mirror worlds of the spiritual successor to 2014’s game of the same name, and explains how it acts as a complete reboot of the series.
Set a thousand years after the events of the first game, its most significant twist on the original is the presence of a second realm hidden within the first, accessible only through the power of the mysterious Umbral Lamp. The worlds of the living and the dead are intrinsically linked to each other, with unique paths or enemies present in one of the realms but not necessarily in the other.
Players can find treasure if they manage to discover the perfect place to use the lamp. The Umbral Lamp offers many abilities, but be careful not to use it too often, as the longer you spend in the world of the dead, the more dangerous it becomes. As a soulslike game, both realms are filled with towering bosses, and players will need to use all the combat skills at their disposal to fight their way through Lords of the Fallen. From monstrous and demonic entities to towering knights driven by their twisted piety, there are terrifying bosses waiting for players.
Lords of the Fallen will launch on Friday, October 13 on PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
