LumenTale looks like the modern Pokemon we wished it had
LumenTale looks like an exciting Pokemon alternative.
A new Pokemon RPG from Game Freak just came out in November. However, some fans were not happy with the graphics or the relatively empty and dreary open game world. So if you’re looking for an alternative or just played through Pokemon Crimson and Crimson and want to catch new mons in another universe, you should definitely check out LumenTale: Memories of Trey. The PC version of the RPG, which sends you on “Animon” hunt, should soon receive a release date. Ports for consoles are also planned.
This is what awaits you in LumenTale
LumenTale takes place in a mysterious universe. This is populated by mystical creatures made of energy, the animons. Due to their nature, they cannot be harmed with normal weapons, only in special ways that the world energy harnesses.
Since we’re on the subject: Combat plays a crucial role in LumenTale. As you know it from Pokemon, you can gain experience points by defeating monsters, but also by trying to catch them. In addition, you can also expect mini-games, exploration and environmental puzzles. In some cases, the animons will also help you to interact with the lovingly designed world.

LumenTale: Memories of Trey – Trailer shows the chic Pokemon alternative
The story is about the protagonist Trey, who has lost his memories and embarks on a journey to win them back. On his mission he traverses the land of Talea, where two warring factions wrestle with each other. They might also remind you of crimson/purple, because while the north focuses on progress, the south feels connected to old traditions.

The LumenTale Kickstarter campaEsports Extrasis now over two weeks away and has already reached stretch goals. That means we can look forward to Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation ports alongside the PC version. Also, the voice of Emi Evans will enrich the intro theme.
