If the last time they were aiming for a release next year, 2K Games and Fireaxis surprised yesterday evening with a new date for Marvel’s Midnight Suns this year.
Nice on December 2nd starts with the tactical and strategy title in the Marvel Universe, with the date only valid for PS5, Xbox Series and PC. The last-gen versions will follow at a later date.
“We have made the decision to push back the release date of Marvel’s Midnight Suns to ensure the teams at Firaxis Games and 2K provide our fans with the best possible experience,” the statement said.
The fact that you can start a little earlier than expected should certainly please one or the other. Players on PS4 and Xbox One will probably have to wait until 2023, if not at risk of being discontinued.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns Prequel Shorts
Alongside the release date, a prequel shorts series has also been announced, covering the backstory of the heroes and their battle against Litith.
With the Marvel’s Midnight Suns Prequel Shorts Players and fans can look forward to five short videos that provide a backstory on how Lilith became the mother of demons, and how superheroes like Blade, Magik, Ghost Rider and Nico Minoru came together to form the young core of the Midnight Suns.
“We knew that in Marvel’s Midnight Suns we had a really cool opportunity to delve deep into the dark side of Marvel and introduce some supernatural heroes that might be new to many Marvel fans,” said Jake Solomon, creative director at Firaxis Games. “Prequel Shorts explores the events leading up to the game and truly brings the world of Marvel’s Midnight Suns to life.”
The first video of the Marvel’s Midnight Suns Prequel Shorts will be released on October 31st and will be available on YouTube, among other places. The series is produced by Sun Creature Studio and DIGIC Pictures.
