Metroid Prime Remastered: Where to find all Chozo artifacts
Exploring Tallon IV is a vastly rewarding experience under the helmet of Samus Aran. In Metroid Prime Remastered for Nintendo Switch it is even better than on GameCube or Wii. Thanks to its improved controls and polished graphics. Getting all the armor, visors, weapons and their improvements, however, is not the only task on this planet. Now we will see how to find all the necessary artifacts to complete Metroid Prime Remastered.
There are 12 artifacts that you must search for in Tallon IV and take to the Chozo temple to make your way to the impact crater. You can go collecting one by one but you don’t need to take it immediately to the temple. Instead, you can hope to collect them all for a single trip. With this clear, let’s look at the locations of the Chozo artifacts in Metroid Prime Remastered.
50 years after Samus’s arrival on Tallon IV, the Chozo race colonized the planet and built the temple of artifacts to contain the spread of the Phazon. A highly radioactive substance from the planet Phaaze. Unlocking each totem is the only way to confront the ‘Metroid Prime’ or the source of the Phazon contaminant on the planet.

1. Artifact of Truth
You only need the missiles to access the artifact temple on the surface of Tallon IV, by going through the door near the waterfall at the landing site. You don’t have to do anything but get closer to the center to get it. Once the surrounding Chozo totems light up, you can scan them for clues to the location of the other artifacts.
2. Artifact of the Force
You must first own the Space Jump Boots. At the Magmoor Caverns Monitoring Station, you need to reach a raised platform and extend the bridge with the Turbosphere. This connects with the warrior’s sanctuary, where the artifact rests on a Chozo statue.
3. Artifact of the Elders
First of all you need to have the plasma beam in your possession. In Phendrana’s control tower, you can access the rooms located above the doors. In one of those rooms there is a frozen window, where you must use the plasma beam to unfreeze it. You will see some fuel tanks through the window, which you can shoot with a super missile. A pillar will fall to the side of the room, opening a rift in which you can pick up the artifact using the Morph Ball.
4. Artifact of the Wild
You require the Arachnosphere before you get the room of the Chozo artifacts. This one lies in the solar chamber of the Chozo ruins, head to the solar tower room after defeating Flaahgra. You will need four runes, two of them on the middle pillars and the other two behind the cordite walls, breakable with super missiles.
Once scanned, Samus must use the Arachnosphere path and bomb jump to reach the top. After defeating three Chozo Ghosts, you will be able to pick up the artifact.
5. Artifact of the Creator
If you have the gravity suit, you can head to the tower of light in the Chozo ruins, which connects to the tower chamber underwater. You will have to jump from a ledge using the gravity suit or another jumping technique if you do not have it.
6. Artifact of the Warrior
It is mandatory to explode an energy bomb in the container of the elite laboratory in the Phazon mines. This will free the Phazon Elite from its tank, which you must confront and defeat in order to claim the Chozo artifact in the wrecked tank.
In the American version of Metroid Prime For the GameCube, this artifact would cause a glitch if Samus left the room without taking it. Since it disappeared and it was impossible to complete the game afterwards.
7. Artifact of the Chozo
You require Morph Ball Bombs to obtain this artifact. In the grove, you need to destroy the sandstone panel with a Chozo symbol located in the water. Use a bomb in the drain to spawn a rotogenerator which, when activated, will raise the rest of the pillar with the artifact inside.
8. Artifact of Nature
In the Magmoor caverns area you will find the lava lake and there the central rock spire containing the Chozo artifact. You can use a super missile or multiple missiles to destroy it and reach the artifact using the space jump boots. As soon as you get to the Magmoor caverns you can access this piece.
9. Artifact of the Sun
With the plasma beam, head to the Chozo ice temple located in Phendrana. At the top of the room you will see a Chozo statue that you must shoot in its frozen hands to melt the ice. Using the Morph Ball move to his hands and tunnel under the statue to find the Chozo artifact.
10. Artifact of the World
In the Chozo Ruins Elders room, shoot the red circle (Morph Ball Connector) on top with the plasma beam. Activate it by detonating a bomb with the Morph Ball. He then just opens the revealed white door to access the elders’ chamber with the artifact.
11. Spirit Artifact
For this artifact you need the plasma beam, the grappling beam and the energy bombs. Near the top of Phendrana’s borders – which you’ll have to climb with the grappling beam – you’ll find the storage cave. Passing the floating platforms you will reach an area that you must scan with the X-ray or thermal scope to locate a hidden door.
One energy bomb is enough to clear the wall covering the entrance to the second to last of the Chozo artifacts.
12. Newborn Artifact
The last of the 12 Chozo artifacts is located in the Phazon mining and requires the Phazon outfit, preferably. You can also get it without the Phazon suit but you would need all the energy tanks to not get faint from the blue Phazon from the mines. Defeating the Omega Pirate is the best option to access the Morphosphere tunnel. At the end of the bombarded obstacles on the way, you will reach the artifact.
Next step: Metroid Prime.
