The huge leak on Mortal Kombat 1 is gradually being confirmed. Warner Bros. Interactive and NetherRealm Studios unveil a big trailer that still draws blood thanks to two new characters.

Two new characters in the cast of Mortal Kombat 1
The majority of the roster of Mortal Kombat 1 has leaked, but the developers have yet to confirm the veracity of these leaks. And that’s what they did a few hours ago during the first episode of the Kombat Cast show. An online appointment that revealed new information on the cast of MK1.
The unpublished trailer, which reserves its share of very violent and enjoyable blows, focuses on the Lin Kuei clan. A caste of assassins to which Sub-Zero belongs in particular… and Smoke. A fighter who officially joins the ranks of Mortal Kombat 1. “Closely related to Scorpion and Sub-Zero, Smoke has made the clan’s mission his own and joined his brothers Lin Kuei in defending the Earthrealm” explains Warner Bros in its press release. And he’s not alone since Rainthe High Mage of the Shadowlands, also joins the Mortal Kombat 1 roster. A character who manipulates water like no other, but who also hopes “learn the darkest and most powerful sorcery of the realms”.
The more “secondary” cast is expanding on its side thanks to the Kombatants Kaméo. Characters who come in support during fights for ever more impressive combos. Sektor and Cyrax will be able to support Smoke as well as Rain. But the Mortal Kombat 1 gameplay trailer also confirms the Frost and Scorpion Kaméos. For now, the roster is made up of the aforementioned Kombatants and Liu Kang, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Kung Lao, Kitana, Mileena, Shang Tsung, Johnny Cage and even Kenshi.
MK1 playable for free except for the angry villains
While some are still training on Street Fighter 6, others were able to get their hands on Mortal Kombat 1 through the stress test phase. A version that can be played for free which allows you to test the whole network aspect and the positive and negative repercussions on the gameplay. Unfortunately, no need to go to the PS Store, Microsoft Store or Steam, it was last month and it only lasted three days. A beta has not been announced, but if you buy the Premium or Kollector edition, you will have access to Mortal Kombat 1 a week before.
This stress test made it possible to learn the return of a feature against the haters: the Quitality. It’s a bit like a Fatality, but for bad players who abandon a fight in progress. By doing this, the Haters give victory to the opponent. In the example below, the player who renounces the confrontation commits suicide before a “Quitality” appears on the screen.
Mortal Kombat 1 will be available on September 19, 2023 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
