Netac NV7000-t NVMe Gen4 M.2 SSD Review

Netac NV7000-t NVMe Gen4 M.2 SSD Review

It’s always good to try new options and our friends at Netac have sent us their new bet on high-speed storage. The NV7000-t is an NVMe Gen4 that offers a huge advantage when gaming thanks to the space/price ratio that is quite good.

This new NVMe M.2 SSD has a read speed of 7,300 MB/s and a write speed of up to 6,700 MB/s in the 2TB version which is the one we used for our review. These enormous speeds help us to have a better performance from the installation of our operating system to any game. It should be noted that this SSD is 100% compatible with PS5.

Much of the theme of these storage solutions is longevity, and NVMes deteriorate over time depending on how much is used. Netac offers a 3D NAND quality that offers enormous confidence in its use and especially in performance without any of this being affected. In addition to this, a 5-year warranty is offered (limited in some cases).

If we talk about speeds, we cannot leave aside the management of temperatures. This NVMe SSD has extreme temperature management. This is thanks to an additional temperature protector that we can place in order to further safeguard the temperature that will guarantee these speeds and performance.

This metal heat spreader that comes included in the box brings with it a huge advantage for systems that run very hot. If your motherboard doesn’t really have a heat shield, you just have to install this metal heat spreader to ensure that the temperature of the year rises as much with use.

In my long hours of use as main storage and now playing games, I never noticed a high temperature. On average it ranges from 45 C to 55 C at most. Although the specifications speak of a value between 45 C to about 85 C, I never encountered these situations. The temperatures that this gives me were after carrying out several constant tests of file copying between 10gb and 80gb. In addition, an extreme benchmark was carried out in which different high-quality files were copied in order to measure all the performance.

In addition to this, netac offers a tool called SSD Tool Box, where we can monitor the life of the storage device, the temperature and perform functions such as migrating all the information to another SSD easily with a single click. This application is really useful and compared to others that offer us scares to recover the information (unfortunately we do not have it in this one) I think that it is something that will help us a lot to monitor this solid state disk more closely.

Inside the box we have the SSD, some additional screws (preferably to install it on a PS5), the aforementioned metal heat spreader to give it a better temperature when under stress and of course a quick start guide (in addition to how we should install it on a PS5 for example).

Inside the box

In the case of the tests, they are carried out on a PC with the following specifications:

I always comment the same but an interesting fact when installing and not being detected by your PC, this is because you need to format the new installed volume and give it the style you want, since in some cases it is the first use it receives . We just have to go to the option to create and format disks, there we will see all the partitions that we have available and from there we can start the process to activate the recently installed storage. The image below is an example of what it looks like:

For the tests, we will see at the end a graph where we have several storage solutions from different brands. The tests were carried out with AS SSD Benchmark both in reading and writing, in addition to the fact that it was carried out with a value of 10 Gb in total to obtain this result. Something to note is that the version was placed for those who belong to the new generation of SSD with a higher speed rate.

The first result of all is the reading speed which is a total of 7,300MB/s. In the result we can see how the highlight is within one of the best M.2 SSDs we have tested so far. It does not surpass the MP600 PRO but its result is very similar.

For the writing speed part, we have that the score is a little lower than normal, giving it a slightly lower score.

The general score of the benchmark and for me the most important is this score, since it shows once again that in relation to price this has quite optimal performance. Even above the FireCuda 520 and the same Western Digital SN810. The FireCuda 530 has some pretty close competition but the difference is literally zero when it comes to gaming for example.

In conclusion

As I mentioned at the beginning, the factor of amount of storage versus cost is quite challenging. The 2TB Netac NV7000-t offers one of the best storage options for those looking for something simple when building a PC or even those who want more storage on their PS5 without breaking the bank. The results list it as a decent SSD compared to others but not one of the best on the market.

What this one boasts about NV7000-t It is excellent temperatures under stress. Maintaining temperatures is very important in terms of these storage solutions because it greatly influences wear. One of the things that we must take into account is that Netac offers a good guarantee and excellent durability. The metal heat spreader does its job and that cannot be denied. In the end, this is a very practical, cheap and quite useful NVMe SSD in the day-to-day life of a gamer or even any content creator. This review was made with a copy provided by Netac.
