Netflix has made account sharing chargeable, but there is a trick to work around the problem and continue enjoying at no additional cost. The icing on the cake is perfectly legal.
Netflix recently set the Internet ablaze with its announcement regarding account sharing, which until now was free and included in the different formulas. But now it’s over. No more sharing the same account with several people or friends. Now you have to pay extra for each new head. Quickly, Internet users became angry. While there may (certainly) be abuse here and there, many people saw this as a real way to take advantage of the service without breaking the bank.
Worse still, Netflix’s new rules posed the same problem for people who travel a lot. Or, the one who simply can’t afford to return regularly to their original connection. The most common example is in particular young students who are often far from home, or users whose job requires them to travel.
Netflix account sharing without paying more is always possible…
Only here, if Netflix has decided to put in place its new regulations which now ask users to regularly identify themselves in the household where the account was registered, and which charges around 6 € additional per head added to the main profile, the fact is that it is possible to continue to share without paying an extra penny.
Netflix does not provide for any sanction or measure (blocking, account suspension, etc.) for users who do not wish to comply with the new rules with their current account. The trick is therefore quite simple. In reality, to continue to benefit from sharing your account for free, you just have to… do nothing. Yes, the trick is to do absolutely nothing more or less than what you are already doing. Understand that on paper, as long as you don’t add anyone to your current account, you won’t pay extra.
…and it’s the platform that also allows it
In any case, this is what Netflix says in a press release spotted by the Golem.de site. The firm says that current users can take advantage of this “freedom” as long as no other member is added to the existing profile. And above all, Netflix says in black and white that there will be ” no termination or other form of consequence “. On the other hand, in the event that you wish to add someone, this famous freedom will come to an end.
You will then find yourself having to pay a few extra euros for each new profile on the account, as provided for by the new regulations. It’s hard to know how long Netflix will keep its word. Seen from here, it’s almost a little too good to be true. In any case, for the moment, it is without constraints and perfectly legal. You can therefore continue to enjoy your account sharing without fear of lightning.
