New class in the MMORPG ESO destroys opponents with a huge laser beam, should be playable for every role
The . The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) will soon have a new class. The Arcanist is designed to work for any playstyle and has unique mechanics. We at MeinMMO summarize.
With the Necrom expansion, which is scheduled for June 2023, the ESO developers are also introducing a new class.
As part of the Esports ExtrasFan Fest 2023, the developers are introducing the arcanist again in a video and revealing a special ability of the class (via YouTube).
3 skill lines provide flexibility
What class is this? The Arcanist is the 7th class in ESO and relies on powerful abilities from the realm of oblivion. He uses offensive, defensive and restorative magic – so you can play as a damage dealer, tank or support.
The class offers three skill lines:
- Herald of the Tome focuses on damage.
- With “curative rune forms” you play as a support. You heal yourself and your allies, generate shields, and use gates to teleport around the battlefield.
- “Apocryphal Soldier” is the tank line. You draw enemies towards you while boosting your defenses and dealing additional explosive damage with your shield.
The Arcanist offers a new mechanic, a kind of combo system. Crux is generated every time you use abilities. Other abilities consume Crux. The more Crux you collect before consuming it, the more powerful the ability becomes.
In the video, the developers also introduce a special attack of the class: Fate Carver, a huge laser beam. You aim it in front of your character to deal massive damage.

When does the arcanist appear? The class, along with the Necrom expansion, is coming to PC on June 5th, 2023 and to Xbox and PlayStation on June 20th. You must own the expansion to play the Arcanist.
