New Games of the Week bring fresh Horizon and Game Pass blockbusters
These are the new games of the week for PlayStation, Xbox and Switch.
It’s only mid-February and the gaming year 2023 has already seen a few big releases, including Dead Space Remake and most recently, of course, Hogwarts Legacy. And even if there are no real triple A games in the release calendar this week, there are still some interesting titles. Probably the most exciting of them: Atomic Heart, which made our mouths water in the trailers, at least from a visual point of view.
But of course that is by no means the only new title, after all there is also a hardware release this week. With the PSVR 2, Sony is heralding the next generation of its headsets, and right from the start there is also a whole smorgasbord of VR publications.
Check out our release list for all the major games coming to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch during the week of February 20-26.
A notice: Publishers and developers can change release dates at any time. This list shows the current status.

Atomic Heart – The setting of the new shooter in the detailed gameplay trailer
- release: February 21, 2023
- Genre: shooter
- Systems: PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, PC
That’s what it’s about: Atomic Heart is set in an alternate timeline in which the Soviet Union builds robot armies and flying cities thanks to Esports Extrasntic efforts and scientific breakthroughs in the 1950s. But this Soviet utopia threatens to fall apart when the robots run amok in a research area and liquidate the staff. In the role of a KGB agent, we have to get to the bottom of the events and meet some strange people and of course a number of nasty robots in facility 3826.
At GamePro.de we will present you with a review of Atomic Heart before the official release. If you want to prepare for the title apart from that, we recommend the overview by colleague Jonas.

Horizon: Call of the Mountain

Horizon – Call of the Mountain: The PSVR 2 highlight battles look really good!
- release: February 22, 2023
- Genre: Adventure
- Systems: PS5 (PSVR 2 required)
That’s what it’s about: In Horizon: Call of the Mountain we slip into the role of a Shadow Carjas who fights and climbs his way through the game world after being kidnapped. Unlike the previous Horizon games, the whole thing is a fairly linear adventure that puts more emphasis on the visual wow factor and less on playful finesse, even if there are of course various mechanics such as fights against machine beings and various gadgets.
Horizon: Call of the Mountain is the flagship game for the launch of Sony’s PSVR 2. Colleague Dennis has already played the game extensively. You can read how he liked it in his test:
