Nintendo Direct in January/February 2023? When do we expect the first live stream
The next Nintendo Direct could be announced very soon.
Slowly we have arrived in the new year and would be ready for information about upcoming switch games. Do you feel the same? The first Nintendo Direct 2023 could actually be just around the corner. In the live stream, which takes place several times a year, there are numerous news and announcements about the most exciting titles. We don’t yet know exactly when the first Direct will take place this year, but we do have a guess as to the timeframe.
We can expect the next Direct from February
Although the first Direct this year has not yet been officially announced, if we look at the dates of previous years, it is quite easy to deduce when we can expect it. In the last few years, i.e. from 2019 to 2022, the live streams took place three times in February. Only 2020 was an exception with a Mini Direct at the end of March.
The Nintendo Direct has been broadcast in German since 2012 and in its history the stream has only slipped once into April. In all other years it took place in March at the latest, often as early as February. So let’s assume that nothing changes, we can expect an announcement soon – most likely in February or March.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Trailer confirms new name and release
The big switch highlight this year is of course Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Link’s new adventure will be released on May 12th and we will surely have some information about this title before then. It is the sequel to Breath of the Wild, which is also intended to tie directly to the story. It would also be possible that we hear more about Metroid Prime 4 and, for example, learn about a release period. With this title, we don’t even know if we can still count on it in 2023. Also, as with every Nintendo stream, we’re hoping for concrete info on – well, you know – right: Hollow Knight: Silksong. Isn’t it in vain this time?
Games already officially announced for Switch this year include Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life, Hogwarts Legacy and Octopath Traveler 2, although the latter will be out on February 24th. Here’s our list of all the games coming to consoles this year.
